Sakura is a city conveniently located just three JR train stations from Narita Airport, and is known for being home to a local slice of Japanese history. Here you’ll find a bamboo-lined path known as Hiyodorizaka which provides visitors with an idyllic ‘only in Japan’ photo opportunity.
At one end of the path, you’ll also find a property with preserved samurai houses which you can enter and explore.
Sakura was once an influential castle town, and it’s said that these vestiges of that time have hardly changed over the centuries.
