Relax in Luxurious Kurashiki
Treat yourself to the comforts of a traditional Japanese-style inn
Opened in the 1950s in the Bikan historical quarter of Kurashiki, Ryokan Kurashiki, a Japanese-style inn, blends modern elegance with a touch of vintage nostalgia.
The seven spacious suites and one Japanese-style guest room each come with their own private bath, with the suites also equipped with a cozy bed. Enjoy a sumptuous feast in your room, or pull up a seat in the old-fashioned dining area downstairs. Even if you aren't spending the night, you can still drop by to sample the restaurant's seasonal lunches. Ryokan Kurashiki is just steps from the quarter's highlights, such as the Ohara Museum of Art with its noted collection of French paintings, and the must-see canal cruise that runs right past the inn.
Access: From Shin-Osaka Station, take the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen to Okayama Station (about 45 minutes), then transfer to the Sanyo Line local train to Kurashiki Station (about 20 minutes). The ryokan is about a 15-minute walk or a short taxi ride from the station.
