Create Your Own Original CUPNOODLES

A hands-on, experience-based food museum where you can discover the joy and importance of culinary innovation

Discover the secret of invention and the fascinating history of Japan's ubiquitous instant noodles at this interactive food museum. With a wealth of interactive exhibits and creative spaces, a visit to CUPNOODLES MUSEUM YOKOHAMA makes an entertaining day out for all ages.

At the Chicken Ramen Factory, try making Chicken Ramen by hand from scratch while following a time-tested process. With the help of a noodle-making machine, you’ll transform dough into thin strips, then steam, season, and fry the noodles into little packs of tastiness. At the My CUPNOODLES Factory, you can design and fill your cup with your favorite soup and toppings to make your very own original CUPNOODLES.

Design enthusiasts are sure to appreciate the museum's sleek interior and the retro-style fittings of a recreation of Momofuku’s Work Shed, the place where Chicken Ramen was invented. At the Instant Noodles History Cube, marvel at the history of instant noodles and its spread across the world through 3,000 product packages dating back as far as 1958. CUPNOODLES Park will spark the imagination of young visitors—the nets, ball pools, and tunnels of this huge indoor athletic facility offer a unique look at the production process through a fun simulation of being a noodle in a huge factory.

Take a deeper dive into the history of this pantry staple and learn about the life and creative thinking of Momofuku Ando, considered the “father of instant ramen.” His invention of Chicken Ramen in 1958 paved the way for an incredible feat, with instant noodles now a beloved dish consumed all over the world.

No visit would be complete without a trip to the museum's NOODLES BAZAAR -WORLD NOODLES ROAD-. At WORLD NOODLES ROAD, guests can choose from a collection of international noodle dishes to be enjoyed in a setting that recreates the ambiance of an Asian night market. Sample the likes of Vietnamese pho, Malaysian laksa, Italian pasta, and Indonesian mie goreng, along with Japan’s classic Chicken Ramen.

Access: From Tokyo Station, take the Yokosuka Line to Yokohama Station (about 30 minutes), transfer to the Minatomirai Line to Minatomirai Station (three minutes), then walk about 10 minutes to the museum.
