Discover secret of invention and the fascinating history of Japan's ubiquitous instant ramen at this interactive food museum. With a wealth of interactive exhibits and creative spaces, a visit to CUPNOODLES MUSEUM YOKOHAMA makes an entertaining day out for all ages.
At the Chicken Ramen Factory, Try your hand at making Chicken Ramen by hand from flour, following a time-tested process (currently unavailable as of January 2021). With the help of a noodle-making machine, you’ll transform dough into thin strips, then steam, season and fry the noodles into little packs of tastiness. At the My CUPNOODLES Factory, design packaging and fill your cup with your favorite soup and toppings to make your very own original CUPNOODLES.
Design enthusiasts are sure to appreciate the museum's sleek interior and the retro-style fittings of a faithful recreation of Momofuku’s Work Shed, where Chicken Ramen was invented. At the Instant Noodles History Cube, marvel at the history of instant ramen and its spread across the world as expressed through 3,000 product packages spanning the last half-century. CUPNOODLES Park will spark the imagination of young visitors—the nets, ball pools, and tunnels of this huge indoor athletic facility offer a unique look at the production process through a fun simulation of being a noodle in a huge factory (currently closed as of January 2021).
Take a deeper dive into the history of this pantry staple and learn about the life and creative thinking of Momofuku Ando, considered the "Father of Instant Ramen." His invention of Chicken Ramen in 1958 paved the way for an incredible food feat—now, instant noodles are a beloved dish consumed all over the world.
No visit is complete without a trip to the museum's Noodles Bazaar—World Noodles Road, where guests can choose from a collection of international noodle dishes to be enjoyed in a setting that recreates the ambiance of an Asian night market. Sample the likes of Vietnamese pho, Malaysian laksa, Italian pasta, and Indonesian mie goreng along with Japan’s classic Chicken Ramen.



About 30 minutes by train from central Tokyo, the thriving port city of Yokohama makes for an excellent day trip. Located between Minatomirai and Bashamichi station, CUPNOODLES MUSEUM YOKOHAMA can be reached in eight minutes by foot from either terminal.
