Get out into nature while still staying connected at this cozy camping area with a modern co-working place, just a train ride from Tokyo
Nikko City Tourism Association
Just 2 hours from Tokyo by train, the TORCH camping and co-working retreat lets you experience the serene nature of Nikko while still remaining in contact with work or family back home.
Choose from regular tent camping sites, spots for car camping, or book a night or two in the cozy, refurbished Airstream camper. They offer a fully equipped co-working space where you can take care of business while enjoying the unobstructed views of the surrounding lush mountains from the windows and
veranda.
For those who want to explore the area, book one of the electric bikes available to guests. Hop on and pedal over to see the majestic shrines and temples of Nikko, a World Heritage Site, or pop down into the historical town to check out local restaurants and shops.
But of course, you can also just relax at the camping site, chatting with new friends and old around the campfire and watching the stars shine bright above you.
How to get there
From Tokyo Station, take the Shinkansen bullet train to Utsunomiya Station (about 50 minutes), then switch to the Nikko Line and ride to Nikko Station (about 40 minutes). From there, take the Tobu Bus to the Arasawa Bus stop (about 10 minutes). The camping location is a 10-minute walk away.
