Discover the flavors and friendliness of Hida Takayama during an evening of food stall and bar hopping
The Dekonaru Yokocho food stall “village” in Hida Takayama in Gifu Prefecture is an enclave of 20 small restaurants. Here, you can try local specialties like Hida beef and craft sake along with favorites such as sushi, gyoza, yakitori skewers, takoyaki, and even Italian food if you want a little break from Japanese flavors. Rub shoulders and chat with residents of the city, who might share some of their top recommendations with you.
Enjoy your evening like a local by going out hashigo-sake style, wandering around the cheerful little alleyways and popping into any (or all) of the eateries and bars that catch your fancy. Be sure to check out the shateki-jo, where you can try your hand at a retro shooting game.
Open from 17:00 to 24:00, the food stall village is a popular spot for visitors to spend a night out, rubbing shoulders with locals and making new international friends.
