Enjoy autumn leaves at the Foliage Festival in Nagatoro Town, Saitama Prefecture
Saitama Prefecture
Every year from November 1st to November 30th, the Fall Foliage Festival takes place in Nagatoro Town, Saitama Prefecture. Located within two hours of central Tokyo, Nagatoro boasts a vast array of breathtaking mountains and sparkling rivers for visitors to enjoy as soon as they step off the train. In addition to white water river rafting―a must for visitors to the town―the Hodosan Ropeway operating hours are extended during the festival period to provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy both day and night-time fall colors, and specific areas such as Tsuki no Ishi Momiji Park, Hodosan Shrine, and Saitama Museum of Natural History are lit up in the evening for a full-day fall foliage experience.
The best places to see fall foliage are Iwadatami Rocks, Kanaishi Suikan Bridge, and Hodosan. In particular, Nagatoro has various fall foliage spots, so visitors can enjoy seeing fall foliage while exploring Nagatoro. The combination of colorful autumn leaves and the illusory illumination creates a really breathtaking view, making Nagatoro a must-see spot for visitors.
