The contrast between the pale pink cherry blossoms and the yellow rapeseed flowers at Gongendo Park
Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture
Gongendo Park Sakura Tsutsumi is a famous cherry blossom viewing area with a cherry blossom tunnel that stretches over 1 km in length, featuring about 1,000 blooming cherry blossoms. At this Saitama park, rapeseed flowers bloom next to the sakura tunnel, where you can see the beautiful contrast between the pale pink cherry blossoms and the yellow rapeseed flowers. Starting in 1920, nearly 3,000 cherry blossom trees were planted in this area, which became Saitama Prefecture’s best cherry blossom viewing spot. During the cherry blossom festival, 100 food stalls offer all kinds of delicious Japanese street foods. With a variety of flowers blooming each season, from hydrangeas in the summer (June to July) to red spider lilies in the fall (September to October) and daffodils in the winter (January to February), you can also enjoy the different scenery all year round.
