Learning the food culture of Takachiho
Take a walk around the Takachiho Gorge, a deep canyon created by the volcanic activity of Aso, and experience the outdoor activities to delve into the unique food culture of this region. The experience will start from the cutting of the bamboo used to make Kappo Tori (chicken) and Kappo Zake (sake), which are served during a type of Shinto ritual ceremonial dance called the night kagura. The tour will end with a visit to Maruono after walking through a mystic approach that follows the mountain ridge to Mukoyama Shrine.
