Heavenly Tulip Festival Brings Springtime to Fuji

Susono, less than an hour drive from Sagami Bay and Suruga Bay, is host to the annual Heavenly Tulip Festival. You can see iconic Mt. Fuji among a sea of 200,000 colorful flowers. Blooming season is typically late April through May and is your chance to soak up spring and take some calendar-worthy photographs.

A Picture Perfect View

Capture a prominent view of Mt. Fuji set against rolling bands of hundreds of thousands of brightly colored tulips. Treat yourself to some tasty and picturesque tulip soft serve, made with tulip essence and served with pastel Oiri rice candies.

Family Fun

For unique photos, snap some shots of the mountain with the venue's Dutch-style windmill and Ferris wheel. Or explore the family amusement park, featuring kid-friendly rides, a Fuji-themed dog park and life-size Sylvanian Families houses.

How to get there

It's about an hour-long ride on a festival shuttle bus from Gotemba Station, Susono Station, Fujinomiya Station, or Yoshiwara Chuo Bus Station. Direct festival shuttle buses also leave from Shinjuku Station and Yokohama Station. Paid parking is available on site.
