A touch of green under Japan's tallest building

Families flock to the expansive lawns of Tennoji Park (Osaka Tennoji Park Tenshiba Area Entrance) to have fun on this green field situated below the looming Abeno Harukas skyscraper. The park also includes Tennoji Zoo, Keitakuen Garden, and the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts.

How to Get There

You can reach the park by train and then on foot.

Exit Tennoji Station and walk west to Tennoji Park, which is just across the street. You can also walk through the park to reach Tsutenkaku Tower and the Shinseikai area.

Keitakuen Garden

Keitakuen Garden is a traditional Japanese garden right below the ultramodern Abeno Harukas building. It's a great example of Japan's ability to mix the modern with the traditional.

Planning your day in Tennoji

The park is an ideal location to recharge before heading to another one of the area's many attractions. Consider walking to Tsutenkaku Tower , which is visible to the west of the park, to get a sense of what Japan's entertainment districts were like in the early 20th century.
