Families flock to the expansive lawns of Tennoji Park for picnics and playtime, having fun at this field of green situated below the looming Abeno Harukas skyscraper. The park also includes Tennoji Zoo, Keitakuen Garden, and the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts.
You can reach the park by train and then on foot.
Exit Tennoji Station and walk west to Tennoji Park, which is just across the street. You can also walk through the park to reach Tsutenkaku Tower and the Shinseikai area.
Keitakuen Garden juxtaposes traditional Japanese botanical arrangements right below the ultramodern Abeno Harukas building. It's everything great about Japan framed within a single landscape.
The park is an ideal location to recharge before heading to another one of the area's many attractions. Consider walking to Tsutenkaku Tower, which is visible to the west of the park, to get a sense of what Japan's entertainment districts were like in the early 20th century.
