Inatori Onsen is a gorgeous hot spring resort on the edge of the Izu Peninsula. Enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean while soaking at a traditional inn or enjoying the freshest fish.
Inatori Onsen is accessible by train.
The onsen is served by Izu-Inatori Station, one hour from Atami. Take the JR Ito line to Ito, and then transfer to the Izu Kyuko Line.
Inatori Onsen offers a collection of traditional Japanese inns and luxury hotels catering to those of us in need of some serious relaxation. Balanced on the cliffs of a cape jutting into the Pacific Ocean, most of the inns have open-air baths where you can bathe in the refreshing warm water while enjoying some stunning views.
From January to March the town holds a hanging dolls festival where beautifully decorated Hina dolls are displayed alongside hanging cloth dolls, drawing crowds from all over. During this period a number of events take place including workshops where you can make your own hanging dolls.
Before it was known as an onsen resort, Inatori was a fishing village. Come here to try delicious and varied sushi and sashimi at any number of local inns and restaurants.
