How to Get There
The theater is easily accessible from Kyoto.
From Kyoto, take the JR Biwako Line to Otsu or Zeze Station, then walk twenty or fifteen minutes respectively.

Peak performance
Built in 1998, the center is one of the finest theaters in the region, and in one of the prettiest locations, near Lake Biwa and surrounded by mountains. It offers three main performance spaces. The ensemble hall is specialized for chamber music. The theater seats 800, and the main theater can accommodate 1,848 spectators with its unique four-sided stage and movable concert shell.
Programming includes operas, world music, jazz, and vocal music, ballet, dance, drama, and traditional Japanese performing arts.
