Two Luxury Services on Shinkansen
For your information, the JR EAST PASS has been revised and renewed as of October. It is the most convenient rail pass for travel in the Northeastern part of Japan, including Tokyo and the Tohoku region. This pass allows you to take any train in the area, including Shinkansen, over a five-day period. For your convenience you can reserve the pass and seats with Shinkansen Online reservations, and you can pick up the pass at ticket vending machines after arriving in Japan.
In addition, there is a special promotion going on right now: show your JR EAST PASS at more than 250 facilities in JR East and you will receive a discount or a little present. These include Ekinaka stores, hotels, shopping centers, hotels, and restaurants.
