See some of the finest cutting weapons ever produced, and how they're made and maintained

The Bizen Osafune Sword Museum displays blades made by long-dead master swordsmiths, but that's not all. This is a learning center as well, with workshops and seminars on the craft held frequently, including the sword-making process.

  • Attending a sword maintenance seminar
  • Talking to master craftspeople

How to Get There

You can reach the museum by train.

Take the Ako Line from JR Okayama Station to JR Osafune Station, then a taxi to the Sword Museum.

Witness firsthand the sword-making process, and talk directly with the craftspeople who specialize in particular parts of the sword.

Special events

Organized in the style of a village, the museum often holds special events.
