Cycle Through Lush Fields in the Kannabe Highlands

Cycle alongside expansive farmland and bright green rice fields, with wide-open skies above you and forested mountains at either side. With a knowledgeable guide leading the way, all that's left to do is to pedal along and take in the rich natural surroundings of the Kannabe Highlands. 

Take a well-earned rest at a local farm and enjoy a nourishing and visually appealing meal of locally-produced vegetables, tofu, wild purple rice, and other local delicacies. Once you’re satiated, refresh your mind and body with a trip to the Hattan Falls, a cascading waterfall that is part of the UNESCO-registered San’in Kaigan National Park. 

The gorgeous mountain valleys and slopes around the volcanic crater of Kannabe offer numerous outdoor activities year-round, and are an ideal destination for those wanting to depart from the beaten path and immerse themselves in nature. During warmer months, paragliding, tree climbing, and camping make for fun additions to this charming cycle tour.

Access: From Shin-Osaka Station, take the Kounotori limited express train to Ebara Station (about two hours 30 minutes); take the Zentan bus to the Nashiki Chushajo stop (about 25 minutes); walk to the tour meeting place (about 10 minutes). Pickup at Ebara Station is available with advanced notice.
