Mie | Akame 48 Waterfalls Bamboo Lantern Illumination

Eco-friendly Bamboo Lantern Illuminations at the Akame 48 Waterfalls of Nabari, Mie
Located in Nabari, Mie Prefecture, Akame 48 Waterfalls is a symbol attraction in Muro Akame Aoyama National Park which lies across Nara and Mie prefecture. It is said that this mysterious valley with clear streams used to be a training ground for ninjas. During the autumn nights, 1,000 hand-carved bamboo lanterns illuminate the valley and create a fantastic atmosphere with a background of colored leaves. This event is part of ecotourism, aiming to conserve the environment. All the lanterns used for this event are made out of thinned bamboo abandoned in Nabari.
