The Akinada Tobishima Kaido is a popular and exhilarating cycling course spanning seven islands connected by seven bridges in the Seto Inland Sea. Much of the route runs parallel to the water’s edge, allowing cyclists to enjoy sightseeing spots and picturesque views of the sea and the bridges. A hassle-free way to enjoy cycling the Tobishima Kaido is to rent a bicycle. Experienced cyclists can tackle the 50km course that crosses all the islands; beginners and families can opt for the easier 15km route that runs around Shimo Kamagari Island. Cycling is a wonderful way to savor the sea breeze as you take in the unique atmosphere of the islands. So hop on a bike and join us on the Tobishima Kaido.

 

How to get there

 

To start cycling from JR Nigata Station, take the Sanyo Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka Station to Hiroshima Station, a 1-hour 30-minute ride. From Hiroshima Station to Nigata Station by train takes about 1 hour.
