A private garden in Kitakyushu featuring two spectacular wisteria tunnels
Kawachi Wisteria Garden is a private garden established in 1977. In spring, from late April to early May, a total of 22 types of wisterias bloom in a 10,000m2 area. The garden was chosen as one of Japan's 31 Most Beautiful Places by CNN America and have attracted visitors from all over the world. The main attraction of the garden includes two stunning wisteria tunnels, one 80 meters long and the other 110 meters long. The garden is also known for its beautiful autumn leaves. About 700 colorful trees fill the garden with crimson foliage in autumn.
