This year’s Iris Festival will take place from May 25th to June 23rd at Suigo Sawara Ayame Park. About 400 varieties of hanashobu iris flowers can be seen in bloom here in June, making it one of the best times to visit this aquatic botanical garden. Visitors can also take a ride on a traditional wooden boat around the park, plus enjoy the sights and sounds of different events which will be held during the festival - such as the ‘Yomeiri-bune’ bridal boat ceremonies on June 2nd, 8th and 16th.
Suigo Sawara Ayame Park will be open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the Iris Festival. Admission during this time is 800 yen for adults, 700 yen for seniors, and 400 yen for elementary and junior high school students. Boat ride tickets are 500 yen for adults and 200 yen for elementary school students.
