Have you ever been to Kamikochi in Nagano Prefecture?
In 1896, the British missionary and mountaineer, Walter Weston, introduced Kamikochi to the world in his book “Mountaineering and Exploration in the Japan Alps"", and gradually Kamikochi was developed into a mountain resort.
Now, it is home to not only mountain huts, but also various resort hotels, hot spring inns, and souvenir shops. The best time to visit Kamikochi is in the summer months of July and August. The blue sky, the majestic Japanese Alps, and the clear river water are all breathtaking. This area is also said to be a favourite of many painters.
