Did you know there are only 500 days left until the World Expo 2025? 🌏
On April 13, 2025, the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai will open in Yumeshima, Osaka Prefecture, under the theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”. This will mark the second time the Expo has been held in this prefecture.
Why not take this opportunity to visit Osaka and the Kansai region as a whole, which is abuzz with anticipation for the upcoming Expo? Osaka Castle, located in the center of Osaka, is an about 50-meter-high (164-feet-high) castle tower with 5 visible stories on the outside and 8 internal floors. The observatory, offering panoramic views of the city, is located on the 8th floor. Meanwhile in Osaka Castle Park, visitors can take a leisurely stroll amongst seasonal flowers.
After visiting Osaka Castle, head out to experience the neon-lit nightlife in Shinsekai, a lively downtown area in the southern part of Osaka City. There are a variety of tasty restaurants and eateries, including plenty that serve the local specialty of kushikatsu (skewered cutlets).
The neighboring prefecture of Shiga is home to Japan's largest lake, Lake Biwa. Enjoy cycling around the beautiful lake while listening to the sound of the gentle waves. There are many cycle ports around Lake Biwa, as well as cozy accommodations with a full range of services for cyclists - beginners and experts alike.
