Golf with Breathtaking Views of Mt. Fuji
This stunning 18-hole course will delight beginners and low handicappers alike
Any Japan-bound golfer will want to get a round in, but even more so with a breathtaking view from the base of Japan’s iconic Mt. Fuji. Fuji Golf Course, completely within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, first opened in 1935, making it one of Japan’s most historic and prestigious courses. Japan’s first golf course opened in 1903 in Kobe; here, the designers took advantage of the natural terrain to create a challenging course with perhaps the best scenery of any course in the country.
Walk among majestic Japanese red pines surrounded by the mountains as you play a truly memorable round, then relax and refresh yourself in the on-course hot spring. Round off your game with fine dining while viewing the sunset at the open-terrace restaurant, featuring seasonal cuisine and a fine selection of local Yamanashi wines, some of Japan’s finest.
Access: From Tokyo Station, take the JR Chuo Line to Otsuki Station (about one hour 45 minutes), then transfer to the Fuji Kyuko Line for Fuji-san Station (about 50 minutes) and take a taxi to the golf course (about 20 minutes).
