Welcome Bikers One and All

Cyclists on the Shimanami Kaido will find their perfect pit stop

The city of Onomichi sits along the Seto Inland Sea, and serves as one of the anchor points on the Shimanami Kaido, a cycling route that links the islands of Honshu and Shikoku. Whether you're just beginning or finishing up your ride, the new Onomichi U2 complex serves as the perfect stopover for your two-wheeled adventures.

Of particular note is the Hotel Cycle, a boutique accommodation that allows you to check in together with your bike. The comfortable rooms boast bike racks for safe and easy storage, and the on-site repair space allows cyclists to rent tools and tune up their bikes for a smooth journey onward. If you’ve come to the end of your journey here, the staff at Hotel Cycle are happy to assist riders in shipping their bikes back home. Those who didn’t bring their own wheels can rent one from the neighboring Giant Store Onomichi bicycle shop.

The Onomichi U2 building also boasts a number of cafés and eateries, as well as a bakery and lifestyle shop. Enjoy local delicacies and give yourself an energy boost before you return to the road.

Access: From Shin-Osaka Station, take the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen to Fukuyama Station (about one hour), then transfer to the local train to Onomichi Station (about 20 minutes). Onomichi U2 is about a five-minute walk from the station.
