Niyodo River’s Idyllic Lodging
Stay along the strikingly blue waters of the Niyodo Blue at a renovated guesthouse
Just a few minutes away from the Niyodo River, nicknamed the Niyodo Blue for its pristine, cobalt waters, is the Yananose folk house.
The Niyodo River House Yananose was originally built in the Meiji period (1868-1912) and has been modernized while preserving its rustic heritage. You can book this traditional-style guesthouse, which is furnished with your comfort and convenience in mind. The traditional Japanese architecture, created out of natural wooden materials, features tatami mats as well as tategu—the traditional woodwork and fittings intended to create a natural feel. The accommodations include a dining room equipped with modern cooking utensils, so you can use them like a home kitchen. This way, you won’t need to worry about dining out if you prefer to eat at home. A reading space, fireplace, and piano are also provided, so you can unwind in any way that fits you best. Thanks to its modern renovations, it is suitable for both remote working and relaxing during travel.
As the Niyodo River is walking distance from the guesthouse, you can feel one with nature while staying there. Additionally, tour companies operate water-based activities, such as rafting and canyoning, along the river and its waterfalls, so you can choose to balance your leisure time between relaxation and adventure.
As the house can host up to six people, individuals, friends, couples, and families are all welcome. Complimentary Wi-Fi is included.
Access: From Tokyo Haneda Airport, fly to Kochi Ryoma Airport (about one hour 30 minutes), take the Limousine Airport bus to Kochi Station (about 30 minutes), then transfer to the Dosan Line local train to Ino Station (about 30 minutes) and take a car to the guesthouse (about 20 minutes).
