Meet-and-Greet Maiko Show and Experience

Experience the world of geisha through traditional dance performances and direct interaction with an apprentice geisha. Commemorative photo session included.

The whole world is fascinated by the secretive world of geisha (known as geiko in Kyoto) and maiko (apprentice geiko). This intimate 45-minute experience is a rare opportunity to see and interact with a real Kyoto maiko or geiko.
 
The experience starts with the maiko performing some traditional dances on stage. English-speaking staff then provide an overview of the profession and the maiko’s costume. This is followed by a Q&A session where you are free to ask the maiko anything you wish.
 
The high point of the experience is a photo session with the maiko. As you leave, you will be given a small souvenir. 

Access: From Kyoto Station, take a city bus to Kumano Jinja-mae bus stop (40 minutes). From there, it is a very short walk.
From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Subway to Higashiyama Station (20 minutes). From there, it is a 15-minute walk.
