Housed in a former school nestled in the town of Niyodogawa, Niyodo Adventure offers great access to the upper reaches of the Niyodo, which consistently ranks as Japan’s most beautiful river both for the purity of the water and its glowing cobalt color, nicknamed “Niyodo Blue.”
Explore this natural gem on canyoning and pack rafting adventures in the pristine waters.

The 2 to 2.5 hour canyoning adventure takes you through hidden parts of the Nakatsu Gorge, with plenty of spots for jumps, abseiling and splashing around in the pure river. You will even pass by the cave of a legendary dragon! Prefer something a little quieter, but still thrilling? Then try pack rafting down the Niyodo, surrounded by the lush valley views. Hop in the sturdy single-person craft, start paddling and experience the adrenaline rush of riding down Grade 2 rapids.

Tours are conducted in Japanese or English, so there are no language barriers here to get in the way of your river adventure, and you will receive plenty of photos to remember your visit to Kochi Prefecture.
