Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Oirase Gorge and Lake Towada on an E-bike

TOWADA TRAVEL

Most know Japan for its bustling city life, dense urban areas, unique culture, and delicious traditional foods. But for those who can’t wait to experience the natural power of Japan, a different side of the country awaits in Towada-Hachimantai National Park.

Cycling on an E-bike through the Oirase Gorge along its banks of about 14 kilometers is surely the best way to enjoy its scenery full of lush woods, waterfalls, and odd outcroppings of rocks. During your riding journey, you will see 13 beautiful waterfalls on both sides of the road.

After the forest bathing in Oirase Gorge, a dual crater lake is waiting for you. The water of Lake Towada is extremely crystal clear and looks just like a big mirror lying in the middle of the mountains. Ride along the lakeside to find the best angle and bring your E-bike on a sightseeing cruise to reach the other side of the lake and visit all the stunning spots the park has to offer.

How to get there

From Hachinohe Station take JR Bus Tohoku to Oirase Keiryukan Bus Station (about 90mins).
