Find your favorite awamori at Okinawa’s oldest distillery
Okinawa City Tourism and Products Association
Established in 1846, Shinzato Shuzo is the oldest distillery in Okinawa and is highly appraised for its technology and the taste of its products. It boasts several awards, including the Prefectural Governor’s Award and the Gold Award from Monde Selection, and at the 2020 Awamori Appraisal, its “8-year aged awamori” received the Prefectural Governor’s Award, too. One of its most popular items is “Coffee Spirit” awamori mixed with coffee. To develop it, Shinzato Shuzo took inspiration from Westerners, who have long enjoyed drinking awamori in this style, and made it into a great product. Also try their awamori mixed with soda or milk and find your own favorite variation!
