Retrace the beginnings of the world-famous creator of Doraemon with this Fujiko・F・Fujio exhibition
Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture
The Fujiko・F・Fujio Hometown Art Gallery is a manga art gallery where visitors can take delight in wonderful works while gaining exposure to the first principles of manga art.
The museum exhibits the artist’s belongings, as well an area that shows how his original drawings compare with their final published versions. Other exhibits include a statue of Doraemon (one of Fujio’s characters) made from Takaoka copperware, a product of the traditional local industry, as well as an original short animated film.
In addition to the permanent exhibitions, special exhibitions unique to Takaoka are held regularly, displaying manuscripts and other materials. These elaborately designed exhibits offer a chance to deepen your knowledge about the work and make new discoveries every visit.
