Founded in 1884, Tendo Onsen is a hot spring located north of Maizurusan. Tendo Onsen has developed as an accommodations base for sightseeing around the prefecture, and it is blessed with great locations and transportation in the center of Yamagata Prefecture. There are various types of accommodations, from modern hotels to Japanese-style inns. There are also three footbaths along the streets of this hot-spring town, and you can enjoy a leisurely walk to the Maizurusan and various facilities scattered throughout the city.
How to get there
From Tokyo Station, take the Yamagata Shinkansen to Tendo Station (2 hours 40 minutes).
