Kushiro City
Kamuy Lumina is a night walk experience held every spring to autumn at Lake Akan of Akan Mashu National Park in Northern Kushiro City, Hokkaido.
The Kamuy Lumina was created in the hopes of educating more people about the culture of the Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido, and the mystic nature that this area is known for.
Travelers will be able to enjoy a special night walk with a range of performances using projection mapping and scenography thanks to the amazing production by the Moment Factory, one of the top multimedia entertainment companies in the world.
During the walk through the enchanted forest, participants will be introduced to the owl, who serves as both the main character and the Ainu village's guardian god. Through the Ainu tales, you'll have the opportunity to discover the importance of living in harmony with nature. People of all ages can take part in the event and experience the Ainu culture and the breathtaking Lake Akan landscape through all five senses.
Part of the proceeds of Kamuy Lumina will contribute to the preservation of scenic nature and Ainu culture, which are the treasures of Lake Akan.
