In mid-May, about 2,000 blooming cherry trees gently welcome visitors to Noboribetsu Onsen. Planted by the locals with great care, these cherry trees create a gorgeous “flower tunnel” on the road leading to Noboribetsu Onsen and Karurusu Onsen.
How to get there
From Haneda Airport, fly to New Chitose Airport (1 hour 30 minutes). From New Chitose Airport, the tunnel is 50 minutes away by JR train or 1 hour and 15 minutes away by bus.
