There’s more to ski resorts than just skiing. Enjoy fun snow activities at TAKASU MOUNTAINS, the largest ski resort in Central West Japan.
Gujo Tourism Federation
In the Takasu Mountains, one of the largest snow resort areas in Central West Japan, spots and activities that you can enjoy without skiing or snowboarding gear have appeared one after another in the last few years. Our first recommendation is the TAKASU TERRACE located on the summit of Takasu Snow Park. It is a snowfield at an altitude of 1,500m that can be reached with a single gondola. The terrace boasts an incredible view. You can see Mt. Ontake, Mt. Norikura, and even the mountains of the Northern Alps. You can also see a sea of clouds. Our next recommendation is the White Pia Kanjiki Tour experience, which involves walking over the snow wearing traditional snowshoes. When you reach the end, a great view of the Hakusan mountain range will unfurl before you. You can descend on the lift while enjoying the great view.
How to get there
At Nagoya Station, go to the Meitetsu Bus Center and take the Nagoya-Shirakawa-go bus to Highway Hirugano Kogen (1 hour 40 minutes). From there, take the Takasu Snow Shuttle Bus.
