At Kobori Woodworks, which utilizes traditional joinery skills cultivated over many years, each beautiful and durable wooden item is carefully handmade. A key feature is the Kumiko technique, which highlights the natural beauty of materials by avoiding the use of glue or paint. The finish, using rice bran oil, further enhances the natural texture and qualities of the wood.
This plan offers a valuable opportunity to experience Japan's proud woodcraft traditions. The experience begins with a hands-on session of Kumiko crafting, followed by a viewing of the intricate works of Mr. Kobori, a master craftsman and recipient of the Prime Minister's Award.
Through this plan, you will gain a deeper understanding of Japan's traditional woodworking techniques and the excellence of its craftsmanship, while directly engaging with the country's traditional crafts. This is a particularly valuable experience for those interested in woodworking or traditional crafts.
