Yacht Cruising in Kujukushima Bay

HOME > Japan’s Local Treasures > Yacht Cruising in  Kujukushima Bay

All aboard for a luxury cruise on Kujukushima Bay, certified as one of The Most Beautiful Bays in the World

Sasebo City

Literally meaning “99 Islands,” Kujukushima is the collective name for 208 tiny islands located in the Saikai National Park along the coast of Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture. The area was certified as a member of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World, an international NGO, in 2018. 99triton offers yacht cruises on the blue sea and calm waves of Kujukushima Bay, with views of the beautiful scenery created by the ria coastlines and scattered islands.

Join the sunset cruise to admire the contrast between the silhouette of the Kujukushima islands and the setting sun. If you want to taste sushi, tempura, Italian cuisine, and sweets made with Sasebo’s local ingredients, choose one of the many lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea tours available. The cruise also offers the opportunity to experience an authentic tea ceremony at sea. If you enjoy matcha green tea, you should give it a try!

Sailing lasts about one to two hours, and you can board the yacht from the terminal at the Kujukushima Pearl Sea Resort. People of all ages can also play with the yacht's rudder inside, which also makes for a terrific photo opportunity. You can take a relaxing trip for a moment of healing by lying down in the hammock outside the yacht and taking in the sea breeze.

How to get there

From the Nagasaki airport, take the airport bus to the Sasebo station (about 90 minutes). And take the local bus bound for the Kujukushima Pearl Sea Resorts (25 minutes).
