Traffic Information for the Ceremonies of the Imperial Succession

Due to the Parade of the Emperor and Empress (the Imperial Procession by motorcar scheduled for Sunday, November 10, traffic restrictions will be implemented on the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway in central Tokyo, as well as on regular roadways and expressways connecting Narita Airport and Haneda Airport to the city center.

During this period, the use of buses, taxis and rental cars may be affected. If you are planning on sightseeing in Tokyo, please check the latest traffic reports and use the railway system where possible. Also, as travel to and from Haneda and Narita International Airports may take longer than usual due to traffic restrictions, please allow plenty of time when travelling through HND and NRT.

In addition, due to tightened security, flights to and from Haneda and Narita airports may be delayed. If you are planning on flying to or from HND or NRT during this period, please make sure to check the latest flight information.

Please note that the parade of the Emperor and Empress (the Imperial Procession by motorcar) scheduled for October 22 has been postponed until Sunday, November 10.
