A guided walking tour to explore the modern history of Hokkaido in Mikasa

Walk through the museums and former coal-mining regions of Mikasa to learn how the area played into the modern history of Hokkaido. The tour will explain the geography and geology of the region, the culture unique to a coal-mine town, and how coal mining supported Hokkaido as an industry back in the day. The tour will also let you in on an opportunity to dance the Bon Odori with the locals, and for participants to enjoy the Geopark Bento box to taste the unique foods offered in this Sorachi region.
