Indulge in the Local Cuisine of Fukuoka

After your adventures underwater, how about experiencing the food cultures of Kyushu—the southern regions of Japan? Kyushu offers a wide variety of savory foods that will replenish your energy as you explore the area. One of the places that you cannot miss in Kyushu is Fukuoka Prefecture—one of the largest, most populated cities in Kyushu. Among the countless delicious cuisines offered in the area, local favorites such as Kyushu ramen and Hakata Hotpot are especially loved by food enthusiasts around the world!

Kyushu Ramen

Enjoy the different local takes on pork bone ramen throughout your journey in Kyushu. Hakata ramen features extra thin noodles and a rich pork broth. Kagoshima ramen adds chicken stock to the pork bone base, vegetables, dried sardines and kelp. Kumamoto ramen packs a punch with fried garlic and garlic oil.

Hakata Hotpot

For a healthy and flavorful option, try Hakata motsu hotpot, made with beef organ meats and a generous helping of cabbage and garlic chives. To enjoy it to the last bite, add champon noodles to soak up the broth at the end.
