A Traditional Japanese Inn with Hot Springs

Situated on top of a hill overlooking the Mano Bay and surrounded by Japanese red pine trees, Yahata Onsen Yahatakan is a beloved traditional Japanese inn with a scenic natural environment and great hot springs. It serves as an ideal hub for sightseeing, offering easy access to the center of Sado City.

Recharge in the Hot-Spring Baths

Yahatakan is known to have one of the largest sources of hot-spring water in the Sado area. The silky soft water, pumped up from 1000 meters below, has several health benefits and is sure to soothe your body.

Cultural Experiences

From outdoor baths facing the beautiful pine trees to local traditional performing arts, there are plenty of opportunities for you to try cultural experiences at Yahatakan. Delicious dishes made with Sado's fresh ingredients and locally-brewed sake—Japanese rice wine—will satisfy your gourmet appetite. If you want to look deeper into the rich culture of the area, visit the Sado Museum.

How to get there

From Niigata Port, take the ferry (150 min) to Ryotsu Port on Sado Island. From there, take a 30-minute taxi ride to Yahata Onsen Yahatakan.
