About Tokushima

Tokushima is a prefecture of Japan located on Shikoku Island. The Sanuki Mountains sits across the northern side of the prefecture.
9% of the area was designated as Natural Parks, such as the Setonaikai National Park, Muroto-Anan Kaigan and Tsurugisan Quasi-National Parks, and Chubu Sankei, Dochu-Kotsu, Hashikura, Higashi Sankei, Okumiyagawa-Uchidan and Oasayama Prefectural Natural Parks.

Mugi 

Soft and Hard coral garden

 

Mugi is a small town surrounded by nature. Diving are mainly done around the Mugiooshima Island. Due to the cold current from the Setouchi Sea and the Black current(Warm current) mixing around this region, the marine life here is abundant. The most popular here is the "One Thousand years coral (Porites lutea )" which has grown to the height of 9m.

They say that there are more than 20 types of corals and many marine animals in this area. The underwater terrain are basically rocky drop off to the deep.
