Ichihara Lakeside Museum 市原湖畔美術館

The museum holds special exhibitions focusing on contemporary art, and has a permanent exhibition featuring the works of Yukio Fukazawa, a leading figure in post-war copperplate art. Works exhibited include the very cutting edge of art from Japan as well as from overseas.

The museum also hosts special exhibitions and displays of crafts, as well as art workshops that adults and children alike can enjoy.

The easiest way to reach the museum is by train.

From Tokyo Station , take the Sobu Line to Chiba Station. And from Chiba station, take the Uchibo Line to JR Goi Station, transfer to Kominato Railway and get off at Takataki Station. It is a 20-minute walk from Takataki Station.

The building itself is a work of art. Its curved walls and interior walkways are designed to harmonize with the surrounding natural beauty, especially Lake Takataki.

From various parts of the museum, you can enjoy wonderful views of Lake Takataki and the lush greenery that surrounds it. The museum has a 28-meter observation tower that offers a sweeping view of the surrounding area. The museum grounds also offer works of art, such as a giant dragonfly, and a pier that goes out over the lake.
