Day 2: Kojima Jeans Street, the birthplace of domestic jeans

This 400m long street is lined with jean manufactures and domestic jean shops, making it a popular place to purchase jeans made with world-class "Japan Denim." Be sure to explore JR Kojima Station as well since it is filled with jean motifs, including the station name sign, vending machines, ticket gates and stairs.

Day 3: Udon experience at UDON HOUSE (Mitoyo City, Kagawa). Related to the Expo's theme, "empowering lives."

UDON HOUSE offers a unique and enriching experience for those who want to learn more about Sanuki udon. This six-hour course goes beyond a simple cooking class and provides participants with an in-depth look at the culture, history, and preparation of Sanuki udon. In addition to learning about Sanuki udon's history and culture, participants will also have opportunities to make their own udon noodles, learn about dashi and umami, visit a local farm, and enjoy a delicious meal of freshly made udon and tempura for dinner. This tour is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local food culture and discover how food has the ability to empower lives.

Day 4: Visit Togenkyo Iya, a traditional mountain village in Iya, Tokushima, and explore five places along the "Shikoku 88 temples pilgrimage." Related to the Expo's theme, "saving lives."

Nestled deep in the mountains of Shikoku, Iya Valley is a true hidden gem. This remote region is a haven for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. Here, you can find traditional Japanese farmhouses amidst rolling hills and lush forests. From these ancient dwellings, you can admire breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and sky. Iya Valley is also home to unique culinary traditions that are sure to delight your taste buds. Residents use local ingredients to craft deliciously nourishing dishes that will warm your body and soul. Day 5: Learn about and witness Awa Odori at Awa Odori Kaikan (Tokushima City, Tokushima). Related to the Expo's theme, "connecting lives."

The heart of the Awa Odori Kaikan is its second floor hall, where you can witness live Awa Odori performances every day. In the evening, 33 renowned dance troupes, known as "Yumei Ren," take turns performing—showcasing their unique styles and captivating energy. This lively spectacle is guaranteed to stir your soul and make you feel the vibrancy of life. The Awa Odori Kaikan is undergoing renovations and will reopen as an exciting, interactive museum in late February 2024. Here, you can delve into the rich history of Awa Odori in a fun and engaging way. Uniquely, the facility's fifth floor is home to a ropeway station (departure and arrival) that connects the Awa Odori Kaikan, located at the foot of Mount Bizan, to the mountain's summit. From the observation deck, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Tokushima Plain. This tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the vibrant culture of Awa Odori through its passionate dances and historical context, connecting you to the essence of life itself.

Day 6: Experience the world's largest and most impressive whirlpools!

The Naruto whirlpools are natural phenomenons caused by the strong tidal currents differing between the Seto Inland Sea and the Kii Channel. The Naruto whirlpools are one of the three major tidal currents in the world. Feel the earth's lifeforce through this spectacular display of nature.

Day 7: "ZEN Wellness" at Zenbo Seinei. Related to the Expo's theme, "empowering lives."

Participate in a guided meditation program with gentle stretching led by ZEN Wellness meditation and yoga instructors. You can also savor "Zenbo Cuisine," which prioritizes vegetarian dishes prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients from Awaji Island. Day 8: Ride the Shinkansen from Kobe to Shin-Osaka, and then transfer to Kansai International Airport to start your journey home.
