The ultimate light show, with 13 million sparkling bulbs

Sitting just across from Omura Bay, Huis Ten Bosch in Nagasaki is one of Japan's largest theme parks and is arguably the most beautiful.

While Huis Ten Bosch is beautiful in the daytime with its vast fields of fresh flowers, nothing compares to Huis Ten Bosch after sundown. With around 13 million bulbs, Huis Ten Bosch comes to life during the Kingdom of Lights festival.

How to Get There

Huis Ten Bosch is located in Nagasaki Prefecture and can be easily accessed by train, car or speedboat.

From Nagasaki Station, catch the JR Seaside Liner to Huis Ten Bosch Station. The train usually takes around 75 minutes and leaves hourly from Nagasaki Station.

From Hakata Station in Fukuoka , travel along the JR Limited Express line to Huis Ten Bosch Station. The ride takes around 110 minutes. Only five trains a day are direct from Hakata, while the others require a change at the local station of Haiki, just six minutes from the theme park.

From Nagasaki Airport, you can take a high-speed boat directly across Omura Bay to Huis Ten Bosch.

Enjoy the world's biggest display of lights

The Huis Ten Bosch's Kingdom of Lights presents an otherworldly scene of many colors. Millions of light bulbs turn the night into a wonderland, the likes of which you've never seen before.

There's a cafe built over the Art Garden of Light that has a glass floor that allows diners to bask in the soft glow of the lights while watching the beautiful illuminations on the light waterfall just before them.

Seasonal surprises

Over the Christmas period, you can see a giant Christmas tree at the heart of Huis Ten Bosch . With the tree standing at a staggering 30 meters in height, this heartwarming light display is accompanied by music to create a warm and dreamlike atmosphere.
