Stunning cherry blossom views beautiful both day and night

Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture

Boasting a wide array of cherry blossom viewing locations, Nagatoro in Saitama Prefecture is on the list of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. Various types of cherry blossoms bloom all over the town in spring between late March and late April. During this period, the blooming trees will be lit up from sunset until 9 p.m., making unique and beautiful views that are different from what they look like in the daytime. On the Kita Sakuradori street, a 2.5-kilometer pink cherry blossom tunnel will welcome you from the beginning to the middle of April.

The Torinuke no Sakura, with approximately 500 cherry blossoms located at the foot of the mountain, blooms later than any other location in the area, peaking in the last half of the month.

How to get there

From Tokyo Station, take the JR Ueno Tokyo Line and get off at Kumagaya Station (about 75 minutes). Transfer to the Chichibu Railway and get off at Nagatoro Station (about 50 minutes). The park is about 15 minutes away on foot.
