Wakayama City's symbol, the Wakayama Castle
Situated on top of a hill where it looks over the center of the Wakayama city, the Wakayama Castle is a spectacular historical building that was also selected to be one of Japan's 100 best castles. The castle grounds boast more than 600 Cherry Blossom trees that fill the area with soft pink petals each spring. You can see the fall colors from late November to early December. The sight of the beautiful fall colors reflected in the garden pond is a must-see view.
