The Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture is a Japanese Geopark that features the four main geological layers of Japan that date back millions of years ago. Mother nature offers these geological gifts to carry on the beautiful circle of life. Minerals from rich forests travel through the rivers and out to the ocean. The Tsugaru Strait, Mutsu Bay, and the Pacific Ocean intersect with one other, creating a dynamic and rich ecosystem teeming with life. Seasons pass with the landscape, giving rise to vibrant colors and fragrances. At the Geo-dining events held throughout the area, internationally renowned chefs familiar with local ingredients create perfect and exciting dishes. Feast on the food prepared for you from the Shimokita Peninsula for an experience you will never forget.
