Enjoy cycling and this unique tile museum

Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture

Known as one of the largest production areas for mosaic tiles in Japan, the city of Tajimi is home to the Mosaic Tile Museum Tajimi, which boasts an invaluable collection of almost 10,000 artifacts. The building was designed by Terunobu Fujimori, an internationally renowned architect, and has been posted a lot on social media by young people for its unique design.

To get to the Mosaic Tile Museum Tajimi, why don’t you enjoy cycling alongside the row of cherry blossom trees at Tosai no Michi, a footpath created along the old track of the Kasahara Railway? There is a bicycle rental service available at Tajimi Rental Cycle, which is close to the station and has a variety of good bicycles offering excellent performance and stylish design. Tajimi is located just between Tokyo and Osaka and is easily accessible by train from Nagoya, with the trip taking only 35 minutes by rapid train.

How to get there

From Nagoya Station, take the train to JR Tajimi Station (about 35 minutes). From the station, take a taxi or bus (about 15 minutes).
