【Partners Information】Hirosaki Park, located in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms and Hirosaki Castle, which was built by the Tsugaru feudal lords in 1611.
Inside the Park, there are over 50 different types of cherry trees among the approximately 2,600 cherry trees in the park. The cherry blossoms at Hirosaki Park produce even more flowers than usual thanks to a special pruning technique adopted from apple tree pruning.
After the blossoms have finished their run, the moat will be filled with fallen petals, creating a pink flower river called “Hana-ikada (flower raft)”.
The Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival is held annually from the end of April to the beginning of May.
