In order to enhance onboard safety, new measures regarding use of mobile batteries/power banks will be implemented as of April 24, 2026, as outlined in a press release issued by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
The key points are as follows:
• A maximum limit 2 power banks (each ≤160Wh) in carry‑on will be implemented
• Charging power banks onboard aircrafts no longer permitted
• Using power banks to charge devices onboard aircrafts no longer permitted

Passengers flying with the aforementioned airlines (whether domestic or international), are advised to follow the rules set by the Japanese aviation authorities.
