Price Increases are Coming to the Nationwide Japan Rail Pass (2026)

In a press release issued April 9th, JR Group announced that prices for the nationwide Japan Rail Pass will be increasing as of October 1st, 2026 (local time at the location of purchase). This follows a rollout of various price changes across the regional JR corridors covered by the pass.

With this said, smart shoppers should be advised that there is a way to save money on the pass, even after October 1st!
For a limited time, those booking through the Official Japan Rail Pass Website will be able to enjoy the pre-October prices.  Further details regarding the timeframe for this promotion are to be announced, so stay tuned to the official website for more details.
